On the X300 and X301 models and select X200s, Next Generation ThinkPad Roll Cage technology utilizes a carbon-fiber/ glass-fiber top cover (similar to the bodies of the latest jet airplanes and Formula 1 race cars) for added strength and even less weight.

And on the X200 and X200s, a magnesium-alloy top and bottom cover help to protect your system against flexing, impact and accidental drops.

Select X Series models come equipped with an Integrated Fingerprint Reader and 32-byte pre-boot password protection to help guard against external threats. Together with preloaded ThinkVantage Client Security Solution software, you have an integrated security solution right out of the box. There is even an option to disable all input and output ports on the BIOS level, as a final layer of protection for your information.
